RESOURCING THE POINT
DENNINGS POINT, BEACON NY
Spring 2016
SUNY ESF
HISTORY:
Located on the Hudson River, Dennings Point was once the home of the Dennings Point Brick Works. Now, densely forested and covered with lose bricks and piles alike, the site has opportunity for an extreme reuse of material.
GOAL:
To provide an environment based on history, education, outdoor recreation, and agriculture.

Proposed Site Rendering
Concept:
By collecting the nearly thousands of bricks found on the site, the proposed wall will be built at a consistent height of 3 feet, from start to finish (North to South).
The wall will begin at the North end of the site at the tip of the pedestrian patio and boat dock, at ground level.
This section of the wall will remain on the ground plain until it crosses the main entry road. It will then raise to 3 feet traveling through the agricultural fields and reaching all the way to the Southern tip of Dennings point, making its way into the Hudson River. end of wall
The significance of this wall is the fluctuation of the existing site Conditions, and the fact that the wall will fluctuate with the topography, allowing for a range of uses.
