THE GREEN ROOF
This structure has diverse usability, thus allowing visitors to occupy the grass covered slant on the east side of the installation, as well as the covered portion facing North East.
With a new path structure, inviting fields of our pollinator’s favorite yellow flower, and a new green roof structure with the perfect view in the far southwest corner of the site, SQHAP will be a perfect place for events, gatherings, and just a day in nature.

PROPOSED MASTER PLAN

Using solidago canadensis, also known as Goldenrod, as the focal points for the overall site, the visitors of Stone Quarry Hill Art Park will become immediately intrigued by the inviting geometry of the tall yellow flowering fields that have been placed following entry drive, enticing the visitors all the way through their initial experience.
The green roof structure placement was chosen through results of a study completed to determine the “perfect” viewpoint, which Stone Quarry Hill Art Park is known for.

The placement, shape, and size of the proposed green roof
shelter was derived from a completed study of main viewpoints from the Hilltop of SQHAP.
Facing North East, the view is a frame of the agricultural field and farm land across from the art park.
The shape and angle of the green roof structure have been taken from these points.

The green roof is used not only as a tool to retain storm-water, but also to act as an example of how simple and effective green infrastructure can be.
